Rick Poynor Lecture Invitation

An invitation to a lecture by design critic Rick Poynor in May 2001. The lecture was about whether design was adding meaning to the world, or just more style. To illustrate this point, the invitation was a puzzle made up of unrelated images — that is, when assembled, it did not for a cohesive whole image.

Silver type was printed across the puzzle so that even though it was mailed to recipients disassembled in translucent envelope, they were still able to assemble it and decipher the invitation message.
